It is almost 2022……BUT I have COVID-19 and I feel guilty.

Mental Health

Don’t feel guilty.

Do …. DO YOUR PART.

Listen. We Nerdy Girls look at the data, news, and updates ALL THE TIME. The Omicron variant is more transmissible than prior variants and a lot of people have it. Just in England, it is estimated that nearly 1 in 25 people had COVID-19 last week. Depending on where you are, your risk factors, your risk related behaviors, and levels of community transmission, your risk of having COVID-19, may or may not be higher.

So, focus on what you CAN do.

1. Stay home.

2. Wear a mask.

3. Assume you are positive and behave like you are, unless proven otherwise.

4. Test if you can.

5. Help others get tested if you can.

6. Donate to those in need-time, money, or lending an ear.

7. Focus on non-COVID related news. There are lots of other things to think about too!

8. Take time for you-reflect, be thankful, and connect with others in ways that are meaningful and safe for you.

➡️ If you have COVID-19 and can stay home, check out our previous tips on what to do.

➡️ If you don’t have COVID-19 and want to do your part, check Dr. Ashley’s tips here.

Above all, remember to take good care of yourselves. What you do now matters. We know that cases of COVID-19 will go up exponentially in the next few weeks. Your actions can prevent another person from getting sick. They can keep one person out of the hospital. They can help our healthcare workers (nerdy girls among them) manage all of the challenges we are seeing in our healthcare system right now.

And remember, we have been through this before and can do it again.

We will be here for you on the other side of 2021.

Stay safe. Stay sane.

And stay hopeful for 2022!

With love,
Those Nerdy Girls
